Beginning with the font ‘Bodoni’, and after establishing it’s “S/figure eight” grid, it is easy to invent other letterforms and font styles (also for languages other than English), leading in this case to the lowercase Greek ‘delta’ (pronounced ‘thelta’).

While referencing the history of the Greek alphabet, the surfacing geometry of the underscoring grid, helps to resolve a balanced proportion, from one letterform to the next.
